In no way is it planned or scripted ahead of time. According to Linn, “ Mostly what I think sets us apart is the conversation style we have. Since we know each other so well we can go into any topic, which we tend to do often, and so that leads to unexpected discussions. The Darbin Orvar Podcast – Linn and her husband Matt delve into the conceptual side of making in this occasional podcast. Jon has a talent for putting his guests at ease and letting them tell their (often fascinating) stories. Past guests include Jimmy DiResta, Linn from Darbin Orvar, Marc Spagnuolo of The Wood Whisperer, and Zach Kaplan of Inventables as well as some fascinating interviews from a bespoke tailor (Joseph Mapes) and a maker of custom-fit baseball gloves (Scott Carpenter). With a background in CNC machining, Jon originally wanted MakerCast to focus on that area before he decided to branch out into the wider world of making. MakerCast – Host Jon Berard has created a podcast that is part biography, part inspiration, and always worth listening to. If you are reading this, you probably already listen to this show. The three very different personalities, each with their own very successful YouTube channel, come together every week to inspire you to get out and make more stuff. Making It – Jimmy DiResta, Bob Clagett, and David Picciuto talk about topics ranging from brainstorming and creativity to setting goals and follow-through. Here, in no particular order, are five podcasts about makers and making that are absolutely worth your time. Makers are a passionate bunch, and when we’re not in the shop, we like to watch other people in the shop or listen to other people talk about being in the shop.
